The Choice Home Warranty claim process is as follows:

  1. Make a claim by phone or online through your customer portal account.
  2. Choice Home Warranty will begin contacting service providers upon receiving your claim. Within 48 hours you should receive the name and contact information of a contractor, as well as a confirmed appointment time.
  3. The contractor will come and perform the requested service. You will pay the $85 service fee.

I always receive a response from Choice within 24 hours after submitting a claim. For small projects, this is definitely a relief. The vendors are generally busy but good, except Sears Home Services (very unreliable and a lot of employees seem not happy). I hope Choice will have more small business vendors, those are generally professional and thorough.

I had another company offer an inexpensive a/c service to my unit then told me me unit had pressure problems and refused to work with Choice. I cancelled the appointment with that company and called choice to send out their a/c representative for a second opinion. They came out and said my unit was fine and cleaned and checked my unit. The Choice warranty saved me from being ripped off for unneeded repairs

The home warranty process only works if the warranty company provides their share of the bargain. Availability of service providers is a huge issue. We've had some seamless experiences which were great. However recent needs of plumbing and appliance servicing have been very frustrating. We were 3.5 weeks without a refrigerator in our kitchen due to scheduling a provider which we ended up having to secure ourselves. When he arrived, he had to fill out paperwork to validate the issue and estimated cost for repair. When the repair was done, the labor ended up being higher than what Choice said they would pay so we ended up paying more out-of-pocket than the contracted Choice fee of $65.00. For plumbing, a provider showed up for a recent stoppage that didn't have the equipment to provide the service, so another plumber had to be called. Through exposure to plumbers for several issues, we have learned that the process wasn't just complicated for the homeowner, but also the provider. We've had recommendations for other warranty companies that they prefer because it isn't as complicated on their end as Choice. Our contract is nearing expiration, and we are looking for another provider

I have good experience with two of my three clams. One is microwave replacement and the other is fixing a problem with one of my AC units. But I had a bad experience with one of the claims, that is leaked coil of an AC system. The problem was not fixed and ball was kicking back and forth between customer service and service company. I have been a member of CHW since 10 years. The services I have received from CHW have been fair. When reporting an issue (problem) with appliances, the diagnosis of the tech. sent is of primary importance so as to proceed. Microwave bulb which was to be replaced was attended by an electrician who messed the repair by damaging. Since then the m-wave has been irreparably damaged.

This company has been great as far as fixing repair issues when they arise. When it comes to replacing an appliance it’s a different story. Your choice is to take the minimum amount offered and that’s it. They will give you a third of what a new one would cost retail based on their numbers and can’t replace it their selves for that price and drag the process out as long as possible.

Claim made 4/10/24, repair tech reviewed and ordered parts. Parts received 4/19/24. No return contact or appointment to return repair refrigerator. Called several times to ask for resolve was told message would be sent to repair tech. Still no appointment or call back. Called again was put on a call back cue but no call back. Sent emails and did review claim online. Yesterday did another email and further reviewed claim page, pressed on screen but on no clear “ Press here for help” . Saw next page and to chat. Kept receiving same response after each explanation we were still waiting for repair of our refrigerator . Response was that “ they had information repair was complete. If we had any comments or questions to contact them.” Finally Received response that there were going to review and contact us within an appointment to give them 24 hours. Today I’m waiting for a call back. I’m hopeful that I will get a callback today. If not, please contact me as soon as possible.

I have been a CHW customer for several years now and have only used the service a couple of times for repairs. One of those times they were unable to find someone for service in my area and advised me to find a repairman and they would reimburse me for the charges and I did. Well a couple of weeks ago my AC was not cooling and I reported it late in the afternoon. I have Asthma and several other medical issues and included that in my claims report. I didn't hear anything back except an email that they were going to place the order with a technician. The next morning still nothing. I got someone to come and fix the problem. I called CHW about reimbursement and they told me, "No you will not be reimbursed because we didn't approve it and we are not an emergent service. It's in your contract." The young lady was also very rude about it. I'm sorry but it was hot and I think there should be some exceptions sometimes. In the past I have referred people but I won't again. There are other services. Choose Wisely.

I prefer the USA customer service to call into claims. The recent claims representative did not hear me correctly or understand what I needed knowledge wise. I’m a premium customer. I provided in detail what I needed verbally and I uploaded in my portal of my work service document of the scope-of-work that showed no charge and what was needed that the field plumbing technician wrote what was needed to repair or replace. Yet, the approver from CHW tried to deny my no cost out of pocket service. CHW claims rep stated I could not speak with the approver because he did not have the ability to do so or have the telephone number. The vendor Forever Plumbing are an excellent company. I would have said it was going well until recently, but we were assigned a plumber who is running a scam, and it was a terrible experience. When I tried to get the ticket reassigned, they auto denied it because the plumber Choice sent us ghosted us after referring us for restoration for water damage. They made us put in a whole new claim, and assigned the SAME company again. I had to call between 3-4 times and was told different things by each person, and at the end of the day they charged us for the same issue twice. I’m definitely going to get a different company when this one expires.

I have been with CHW for a number of years and had np problems until this year. I usually rate 5, but because I had trouble with one of the contractors sent to my home. This person was obviously unskilled and had compassion for his job. He did nothing but looked inside my clean dishwasher, closed the door and said go to home depot and get some dishwasher Cleaner. (What) ???? I have dishwasher Cleaner. I gave it to him, he opened it and (sprayed ) it in my dishwasher, turned it on. Got paid and left. Water started to flow from under the dishwasher. I am upset. It took several days to reach him. Once I reached him.....he arrogantly said "I'm not coming back" call CHW. That got it with me.....CHW sent another contractor, out to find the initial problem. The first contractor really did not know what he was doing. Flooded my dishwasher with suds which caused the water to Sud from under the dishwasher. Other than that CHW has always received a 5 rating for years.

There were two different visits from two different service techs. Both techs were friendly, cordial and efficient with the washer task. First one diagnosed the issue and ordered a drain pump. The second installed the pump. Just about all is great with the Choice Home Warranty except: I would prefer that the appointment time specified on the CHW site would be more precise. In my case when I received the email before the service date (and later went to the site) it specified the appointment time from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It would be better if appointment was narrowed down to a more specific time. As both my wife and I both work we cannot just take a entire day off. But if a more specific time was specified, say for instance 2 PM, then we could leave for our house before the appointment time and be there when the tech arrives as opposed to being at home all day waiting to see what time the tech arrives. Other than that everything else was good.

Numerous phone calls were required before I was able to speak to someone. Person I spoke to was rude. He was very abrupt and transferred my call where it was terminated. Had to call back and was connected to an offshore agent who I a difficult time understanding. Person sent out to repair my appliance was incompetent. I made too claims, one was for a leaking washing machine, they sent out a technician he replaced a $15 dollar part, I paid the $85 dollars copay no problem. APR 28, 2024, I come home my water heater is leaking I make another clam next day a technician messages me and gives me a window of 11am til 3pm. He message my work number at 1.12pm saying he’s 30min out never shows, later another technician shows up look at water heater say it needs to be replaced needs to get with Choice Warranty. Choice warranty tell me my uncovered cost will be $592.00 on top of the $85copay for a total of $677.00 dollars.

Basically, peace of mind and satisfied when it works the way it suppose to....very frustrating when it doesnt with all the loopholes to deny a claim with all the miniscule exclusions or when the service rep is marginal in advocating for me but instead uses the claim to get denied so they may get the bigger job with me.

Original plumber recommended a new pressure valve. You sent another plumber to check his assessment, I think it was a good idea,he said I did not need one now but because of age would need one later. So you would rather wait till I have the same problem

Repair men were not clear about setting up return visits to put part back on machine. Part was here the next day. Still waiting to have it installed . Won't be here until next Monday. 3 weeks waiting.

I’m disappointed in our warranty it didn’t cover our A/C $21,000.00 out of pocket and our refrigerator was an LG and you only cover half of it so we purchased a new GE refrigerator $2,000.00 out of pocket maybe we need to look for a new warranty?

I originally received great service from Choice Home Warranty but this year my heat went out in one the coldest times of the year and it took over 2 weeks to get someone assigned to me. Recently my oven stopped working and a contractor came out to fixed the issue, now when you turn the oven on the gas smell is so strong that it made me physically sick. I called Choice Home Warranty 5 times and kept getting transferred to automated message saying leave your phone number, you will receive a call back which I never did. I ended up calling the contractor who will come and look at it on Friday 4/19.

I think Choice has an excellent home warranty program. They settled my refrigerator issue and dishwasher break down quickly and effectively. The dishwasher repair company however didn’t finish the job properly but that’s somewhat separate from Choice.

We've had it for less than a year. Our water heater needed replaced. The plumber was condescending, rude and terrible communicating with us. I refuse to let him back in my house. The second plumber who came to fix the whole house humidifier was wonderful. We have a toilet leaking into the basement ceiling. We were told we could request the plumber we liked, that was over a week ago. We've called and talked to a person direct who gave us his number but we're just told I'll talk with management. I called again and left a message. Today I still haven't heard anything so I called the claims line she was more helpful and I left a message with the plumber we like to accept the claim. I'm mixed with how I feel about this company. I've had terrible and good experiences. I've been promised wonderful things but they haven't been delivered yet. I want this company to be good, I renewed for three years. It's $75 for a service call. I was charged $460 installation fee for the hot water heater, that was a few months ago, but now I was told they don't charge an installation fee anymore. Good luck
